Donor Logistics Coordinator

Founded in 2015 as the first furniture bank on Long Island, Open Door Exchange (ODE) connects donated furniture to individuals and families in need, in crisis, or in a life transition, at no cost. We believe that furniture is necessary to building a safe and comfortable home for all.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Donor Logistics Coordinator oversees the processes for donation inquiries and scheduling for furniture acquisition at Open Door Exchange with support in volunteer management.
This is a part-time position for 20 hours per week that reports to the Director of Outreach & Operations. The salary range for this position is $21.00 to $24.00 per hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Open Door Exchange’s mission with timely and courteous communication to support furniture operations.

Provide friendly, professional and personalized interactions and ensure optimal donor and volunteer experience.

Maintain an accurate and organized system for tracking and scheduling pick-ups and drop-offs.

Under the direction of the Director of Outreach & Operations, the coordinator serves as the primary contact person for ODE furniture donors.

Respond to phone calls, website inquiries, emails, text messages, and social media messages for ODE related to furniture donations.

Schedule furniture pick-ups and drop-offs for ODE from private donors, Habitat for Humanity and other community partners. This includes planning the pick-up route and communicating with volunteers, donors and/or contracted moving services.

Pre-screen donation quality through digital communication.

Responsible for donor and inventory management in the online database, Salesforce.

Connect with local companies, organizations and community partners to expand our furniture donations.

Prepare a monthly report of incoming and outgoing donations to the Director of Open Door Exchange.

Send thank you follow ups and donation receipts to furniture donors, or recruit volunteers for this correspondence.

Provide assistance for warehouse shifts, pick-up shifts and support for ODE fundraisers as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong problem solving skills

Motivated self-starter with superior organizational and time management skills

Office management and computer skills essential, including fluency with Excel, Google Docs, and Salesforce

Ability and willingness to interact respectfully with a diversity of people in a variety of settings (clients, volunteers, community leaders, students, etc.)

Ability to attract, build, motivate, and support involvement in these outreach programs

Familiarity with Suffolk County for route logistics and scheduling

Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends
